Werner LieblangWhen Werner Lieblang programmed a microprocessor for the first time as a student at Ruhr University Bochum in 1974, Germany had just won the soccer World Cup for the second time. That was over 50 years ago. Today, his course participants, who he prepares for the ISTQB® Certified Tester exams as a lecturer at trendig technology services GmbH, benefit from his wealth of experience.

His career has spanned a wide range of positions, from software development to managing electrical engineering projects and consulting for software quality assurance. In the 1980s, he developed safety-critical software for railroad interlockings. Due to the consequences that a software error can have in railroad operations, quality assurance was already a focus for him at that time. After moving to the automotive industry, Werner Lieblang was responsible for all software for engine and transmission production lines at ABB Flexible Powertrain Assembly GmbH. He deepened his expertise in software quality assurance after moving to SQS AG in 1999, where he worked as Head of Department. Since 2005, he has been Managing Partner at trendig technology services GmbH, where he still works part-time as a trainer.

At the GTB, the engineering graduate has set out to further improve the quality of examinations, which he has been familiar with as a lecturer for many years. He would also like to use his commitment to build a bridge between the participants of the ISTQB® courses and the GTB. In addition to his work at the GTB (Glossary, Automotive and Marketing working group), he is also active in the “Test, Analysis and Verification of Software” (TAV) working group at the German Informatics Society.
