Member of the GTB
Francis Fenner has worked in software testing for over 23 years. After studying Public Administration at the University of Limerick, he completed a postgraduate diploma in Information Technology at the National University of Maynooth. He secured his first job in IT consultancy, based in Düsseldorf, and has worked at every level of testing since then, rising to the position of Head of QA. Francis Fenner has gained experience in the establishment of a QA organization from scratch and places great value in the competence of the QA teams. He is a long-term supporter of the ISTQB certificate programs as it provides an established standard for employers to evaluate candidates.
Francis Fenner became involved with the GTB because he believes in the professionalization of the profession and wants to contribute and learn from the high-caliber people involved. One of his first activities was to contribute to the test management syllabus as an author of the section on risk-based testing.
His career has developed into compliance and security testing. Francis Fenner believes that software quality assurance is a critical part of the brand “made in Germany” and getting it right is vital to our industry’s overall success. The world holds German physical products in high esteem. Our digital products must enjoy the same.
